Over the span of three years, I taught myself how to build a virtual production set, beginning with a small patch of green on a wall and an iPad, then progressing to a green screen setup before securing the funding for an LED version. This hands-on journey ultimately led to Texas State becoming the first university in Texas to offer an LED virtual production set for all students to learn and use, located in the Alkek Library. This initiative opens up a unique opportunity for students to experiment with cutting-edge filmmaking techniques and push the boundaries of storytelling in ways that were once out of reach.
